What are skin doors?

The door skins are made of high-quality HDF, which ensured minimal moisture retention and bloating, as compared to MDF door skins. Compared to other types of doors, skin doors have near to zero defects and do not expand or contract as much, even in extreme climate conditions.

What is door skin made of?

Door Skin Hardwood Plywood is manufactured by using high-end quality smooth painted grade veneer and made from sustainable Malaysia tropical mixed hardwood.

How thick is a door skin?

You apply a door skin to an interior door that is banged up, but still intact. It is usually 1/8″ thick and comes in 80″ a length to match ordinary interior door height. The width is variable, to match your door width (i.e., 32″, 36″ etc). Get a skin to match the door’s dimensions (e.g. 80″ x 32″).

What is the difference between a door skin and a door shell?

A “door skin” is the outer metal layer only. A “door shell” includes both the outer skin and the door frame, and is shipped reassembled with the skin already welded and bonded to the door frame. Door skin and frame pieces are joined together to form a door shell.
